i called in sick for the whole day today.
why?
because i have a bad soar throat, i even think its laryngitis.  it hurts when i swallow.  i can’t enjoy eating and drinking water.  all i know is that when i move my throat, it hurts bad.

i was woken by the pain around 6 am, really early for me coz i wake up around 8 am.  i thought i’d just be a half day absent from work but came 9, i still felt ill.  i just wanted to lay in bed and sleep all day.

my mom kept pestering me to get a check up immediately.  i was so stubborn to do so because going out of the house meant having to take a bath.  gee, im even lazy to take a bath, all that matters is the pain i feel with my throat.

so there, i just stayed home the whole day, sleeping, and urinating once in a while (i went to the cr! i wasn’t that lazy!).  and once again feeling the pain of my throat (kafeel mo, cg nako balik2 nga sakit jd kau cya).  it really is painful.  i can feel that my larynx is inflamed.  add to it that i have a cough and coughing meant once again moving my layrnx.  how sickly could i get!

when my mom and dad got home from work, my dad greeted me with “let’s go!”.

to where i answered.

he then started his endless sermon about my history of pneumonia when i was 10.  that too was because i was very stubborn to get a check up.  he said that i even cried coz i didn’t want to miss school for an unnecessary check up.  consequences were, i got admitted due to a prescribed capsule i was allergic to (i couldn’t breathe after taking 1 dose).  i stayed in the hospital for 2 weeks, then had a monthly injection -for a year- after i got discharged.  i remember the monthly injection, but i didn’t recall being stubborn for a check up.

so to make my dad stop his sermon, i agreed to be taken to the hospital near our home.  thankfully, i didn’t have a fever for consecutive days.  my dad said that i better get admitted.  he’s paranoid in these kind of situations.  good thing was that i was perfectly fine.  just have an irritated throat _ but it hurts soooo bad!!! – coz the doctor can’t see swollen and redness from my mouth.  she prescribed a different capsule for my cough, a gargle, and lozenge to supress the pain.

what a relief.  i think i could go to the office tomorrow.  i got loads of work to do.

“out of the overflow of the heart, the throat hurts”

i remember telling ryan this weeks ago when he was walking around the office with a hot pack on his neck.  my own hypothesis was that his heart was in pain, and out of the overflow of his painful heart, his throat got affected.  hahaha.  i didn’t think that i’d experience the same thing right now.  (even while im typing this right now, my throat hurts).  i should be able to prove my hypothesis right?  well, something’s been bothering me lately.  maybe that’s what caused my hurting throat right now…

i hope the pain goes away fast.
