language barrier

is pissing me off.

i am very pissed at the fact that we have a task, but we can’t start at all since we are only able to understand 2 pages of the 1st (of 3) requirements documents.

*interupt: cmon, what really happened that ticked you*

fine.

it was when they had this short meeting, all of them AND we weren’t part of it.  i guess they were already giving out the module assignments.  maybe they thought it as useless to include these 2, they won’t even understand us.

its frustrating because its been 2 weeks and we haven’t done any direct project related tasks.  we cannot join in the designing just because of our shortcomings of the language.  what a waste of money, time, and talent.  they are paying for our trip here, yet we haven’t produced anything.  we are spending our time here, doing nothing directly related to the project, when we could have used it in helping creating the design documents.  and a waste of talent, because we know we are capable of making good designs, yet, we are treated as though we’re fresh graduate students.  what a waste…

why im ranting this much?  coz its so hard not be heard understood… its like you’re mute, you cannot express your ideas even if you want to, or if you can, they wouldn’t understand either.  you have a solution to their problem yet you can’t air them out.  it frustrates me that i am not good enough in nihongo.  and just because of that, everything else are out of the window.

but while writing this entry, i realized:
1. listening and understanding a person is very important.  however hard it is to understand the language he/she uses, we should always give them a chance to express themselves, and not allow the language barrier to hinder them from sharing what they think and feel, as well as not robbing ourselves of the learning that we could get from them.
2. ‘language barrier’ does not limit itself to the literal sense, but otherwise.  in whatever kind of relationship, we use different languages to communicate with people.  we speak a different language than others.  but that shouldn’t stop us from adapting to their language, nor us from speaking our own.  what’s important is to give them, and ourselves, a chance to be heard.
3. God is soooo cool.  He listens and understands everyone of us without ever getting tired, and He speaks to all of us without any difficulty.  He never gets nosebleeds.

i know i should be taking this one as a challenge promising great satisfaction when conquered.  so i rest my case, and move on to studying.

hahay… watch out lng jd na cla kng makabaw na jd mi maghinpon. hmph!
